Good news! If you were interested in CMAP, the Community Mapping Workshop (or eager to earn 3 credits in one week!), I'll be leading two CMAP workshops this summer:
The best part? YOU could take the picture above during our field work for CMAP in St. George! *The CMAP courses are not required, but would fill your ISTE Standard 2 credit requirement AND your two electives, meaning you could skip ALL of the courses starting in June.
Review the Educational Technolgy Endorsement Program (ETEP) Requirements. 18 credit hours are needed, as well as attendance at an EdTech Conference. If you miss a course or come into the SEDC ETEP Cohort late, you can take other classes from UEN whenever they are offered.

The next course in the SEDC EdTech Endorsement series is now open for registration! In the Technology To Improve Student Research course, teachers will learn how to use Utah’s Online Library to improve student research. Participants will learn how to use various databases to cite, organize, and research. Participants will explore strategies for using Utah’s Online Library and research tools to challenge and engage students and enhance learning. This course will focus on integrating the online research software NoodleTools into the research process.
Follow this link to learn more about the course and to register for the course through UEN. The course starts on March 2, 2017. Registration closes the same day.
Clint Stephens & Chris Haught will lead this six-week course. Technology To Improve Student Research fills the UEN Essentials: UEN Tools & Resources course requirement for the Educational Technology Endorsement Program.
Please feel free to share this with other educators who would be interested. You can learn more about the SEDC ETEP Program here: https://sedck12.org/etep
SEDC is working in cooperation with the Utah Education Network (UEN), the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) and Southern Utah University (SUU) to provide a professional development opportunity to earn an Educational Technology Endorsement Program (ETEP) endorsement for teachers in our region. These courses will be held entirely online through the Canvas learning management system.
The ETEP endorsement consists of 18 credit hours of courses: 3 3-credit core courses (9 credit hours) which are focused on many of the core concepts in educational technology integration. An additional 6 credits of courses focused on technology to support your curriculum, and 3 credits of courses where you use technology to enhance your professional practice are required as electives. These 5000-level credits will be awarded through SUU at a cost to participants of $23 per credit to record.
Teachers following in-step with the SEDC ETEP plan will complete this endorsement in 2 years. Credit earned in the program can also be used for salary lane changes. Coursework can be applied towards a Master's degree program from either Southern Utah University or the University of Utah.
Our courses have begun already, but if you are interested you can join in at anytime. The courses offered during the 2016-2017 school year begin about every 2 months and run for 6 weeks. We will begin the 12-week core courses will begin in early September 2017. Take a look at the upcoming courses we will offer!
